Technologies at Our Dental Clinic
The technology we use can give us great insight into your oral health. It lets us capture clear images of your teeth, mouth, gums, and jaw.
We can share these images with you on a computer screen in the treatment room with the simple touch of a button. This allows us to show you issues in your mouth, including those below the gum line or deep within your teeth.
We aim to give you peace of mind while we work together to make informed decisions about your oral health.
Digital X-rays
Digital X-rays use digital sensors instead of traditional photographic X-ray film. They produce highly detailed computer images of the teeth and gums and other oral structures and conditions, allowing your dentist to examine parts of the mouth that are not visible to the naked eye.
Panoramic X-rays
Panoramic X-rays allow your dentist to create a single image of your mouth. This image is a flat representation of the teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and the nasal and sinus structures. Panoramic X-rays are often used to help plan treatments for dentures, braces, extractions and implants.
Soft-Tissue Dental Lasers
Lasers (focused light beams) can be used in various soft tissue procedures. They allow our dentists to perform dental procedures with less pain and fewer medical interventions.
CEREC® Same-Day Restorations
Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics (CEREC) is a system that allows our dental team to fabricate and place ceramic dental crowns, inlays and onlays during a single appointment.
Intraoral Scanners
Intraoral scanners create digital dental impressions, an ideal alternative to traditional dental impressions which can be messy and time-consuming. Your dentist simply uses an optical scanning wand to take a digital image of your teeth within minutes. This device allows your dentist to capture accurate data to create digital replicas of the hard and soft tissues of your mouth.
Cone Beam Cat Scan
Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a special type of X-ray machine that generates 3D images of dental structures, soft tissues, nerve paths and bone in the craniofacial region in a single scan. Images obtained with CBCT allow for more precise treatment planning, including analyzing your airway for snoring and sleep apnea treatment.
Oral Cancer Screening Device
The VELscope® is an oral cancer screening device that helps the dentist identify abnormalities and diseases in the mouth, such as cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions. It can be performed in your dentist’s office during routine exams and under normal lighting in about two minutes using fluorescence visualization technology.
